New Updates at Umstead State Park

Another local commercial renovation has wrapped up at William B. Umstead State Park, one of Wake County’s most treasured outdoor destinations.

Just minutes from downtown Raleigh, Umstead offers miles of trails, fishing spots, camping areas, and endless opportunities to enjoy an escape from the bustle of urban life. Our crew has been hard at work delivering park‑wide renovations that enhance the visitor experience and support the park’s long‑term sustainability.

Here’s what’s new:

• 6 brand‑new cabins
• 11 RV sites
• 11 tent sites
• A new shower house
• A freshly paved loop road
• Mass grading and tree removal
• A new septic system
